Major Theories of Media Effects: Chapter 1: The Role of Theory in Scholarly Fields

To assist you with the assigned readings, I have developed an outline of questions for you to answer. Think about this as a key for what information to pay attention to in the reading. Research shows that students learn and retain information better when they can write it down in their own words.

Try to answer the questions within these guides in your own words rather than copying and pasting the content from readings/lectures. The idea is to see if you can succinctly answer the question in your own words based on the knowledge you gained from your readings/lectures. Try to answer each question within one to three sentences.

You will reflect on your learning experience throughout the course by using your reflective journal entries as the foundation for your paper. The purpose of this assignment is to demonstrate your understanding of key course concepts and how they can be applied to your personal and professional life. You are required to cite at least two peer-reviewed journal articles in accordance with APA 7 style guidelines. The paper should consist of the following components: a title page, 2 pages of the body, and a reference page.

Paper Structure

Title Page:

• Title of the Paper:

Body (2 pages): 

Introduction:

• Provide a brief introduction to the purpose of your paper.
• Mention the course name (Psychology) and its relevance to your academic and professional goals.
• Include a clear thesis statement that outlines the main purpose of your paper.

Reflection:

Reflect on three topics or concepts from the course that you found particularly interesting. Each topic should be discussed in its own section.

For each topic, follow this structure:

Topic Heading: (e.g., “Topic 1: [Insert Topic Name]”)

• Describe the topic and why it caught your interest during the course.
• Explain the key concepts and ideas related to this topic.
• Discuss any real-world examples or case studies covered in the course related to this topic.
• Analyze how this topic can be applied to your personal life. Share personal experiences or reflections.
• Discuss the relevance of this topic to your future professional goals and career aspirations.

Repeat this structure for each of the three topics.

Conclusion:

• Summarize the main points of your paper.
• Highlight the key takeaways from the topics you discussed.
• Emphasize how your learning from the course can benefit you personally and professionally.

Reference Page:

• Cite at least two peer-reviewed journal articles using APA 7 style. Ensure proper formatting for both in-text citations and the reference list.

Formatting Guidelines:

• Use 12-point Times New Roman font.
• Set margins to 1-inch on all sides.
• Double-space the entire paper, including references.
• Number the pages consecutively in the upper-right corner.
• Ensure proper APA 7 style formatting for citations and references

 These are three topics from psychology class according to instructions. 

Kamban’s laborious work in developing and defining the parameters of African-centered psychology provides a blueprint and conceptual road map that future African-centered psychologists can utilize as they continue to travel along the path of navigating the intellectual terrain of African-centered psychology. Ambon attended DePaul University in Chicago in 1969, where he received his bachelor’s degree in psychology. He later acquired a Master of Arts degree in personality abnormal psychology from Roosevelt University in 1971the African Self-Extension Orientation is the psychological foundation of shared behavioral propensities of people of African descent. He believed that this psychological foundation is defined by biogenetics and is not susceptible to social and environmental stimuli.

Psychology is the study of human behavior, and how we think, feel, and act. Psychologists study both normal and abnormal behavior to understand it. Psychologists also try to use what we learn from that study to help people change aspects of their behavior that they want to change. Areas of psychology are clinical, industrial, and developmental. Careers in Psychology offer varied opportunities. 

the class was interesting I had learned about the brain I learned about the brain and how it works. We started with psychology in general and what it is. Then we learned a lot about the brain and what is inside. For example, the hypothalamus is in charge of regulating the body’s temperature thirst, and hunger. This was interesting to see everything that is involved in our everyday lives. learned about everything from conditioning and punishment to how the brain processes information. Thinking was kind of like learning and memory. Then we did motivation with all of the different types of drives and needs the body has. We then moved to development. This shows up as the brain changes as people grow up. Also, we learned a lot about what influences a child as they grow into an adult. I never realized how much information. 

Write a 1,500 word (total) using APA style:

Part I-In 500 words, analyze a dark side communication or conflict challenge people experience in the development of relationships, using interpersonal communication theories related to dark side communication and conflict (e.g., deception, verbal aggression, stalking, hurtful messages, betrayal, defensiveness, negative conflict spirals). (C. 1.2)

Part II-In 500 words, explain how the challenges described in Part 1 are experienced differently in two different relational types (e.g., family relationships versus friendships or romance versus workplace relationships).

Part III-In 500 words, compare and contrast interpersonal theoretical explanations of these relational challenges with Christian worldview explanations. (C.1.4)

You need to have a minimum of nine academic sources (three for each section).

What are your thoughts about the debate regarding whether health care is a right or a privilege? How has the changing health care environment impacted your practice?

Your initial post should be at least 500 words, formatted and cited in current APA style with support from at least 2 academic sources. 

This week you will devote your time to work on your health promotion proposal PowerPoint presentation.

 Please share what you consider a challenge for this activity. How did (or would) you approach the challenge? What does the evidence-based practice say? Any key strategies and interventions that you learned in the process of this course?
